50 Hour Teacher Training

50 Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training

Our next Yin Yoga Teacher Training will begin take place in February 2021.
In-Person and Online options are available!
Our 50 Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training runs for two full weekends. Please see below for information on the curriculum, dates, and tuition fees. 

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and shutdowns in Ontario, our February 2021 Training is offered fully online, or in-person (depending on the situation with shutdowns and zones). We will have a limited amount of space in-studio if that is your preferred option.

The course is presented by experienced Yin Yoga teachers from the Orangeville area: Laurin Wolf and
Miriana Simpraga. All contact hours will be completed with one or both of these instructors!

The Curriculum, at a glance...
​

By the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
  • Define the definition of yin yoga, the history of yin yoga and the three principles of yin yoga
  • Describe human anatomy, physiology and the energy body as it pertains to the study and practice of yin yoga, including elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine and chakra and meridian theory as they pertain to the study and practice of yin yoga
  • Apply the asana theory behind the yin yoga poses, identifying target tissues, effects, modifications and contraindications, props and assists available
  • Practise and teach the meditation and pranayama component of yin yoga
  • Describe special populations and their associated considerations and modifications - injuries, pregnancy, sciatica, etc
  • Teach a one-hour Yin Yoga class

45 of the 50 Hours is in contact with the lead instructor or other staff, with the remaining hours completed as homework or other assignments. All contact hours will be completed at the Kala Yoga studio, unless otherwise specified ie: to attend a special workshop/event outside of the classroom. 

No prior training is required to apply for our Yin Yoga Teacher Training, although in order to safely teach the course content you must be a Certified Yoga Instructor. This course however is also open to serious students with a passion for Yin who would like to deepen their knowledge and practice. All trainees will receive a certificate of completion upon satisfactory completion of the course.

In order to keep our training intimate and to give each student sufficient attention, our registration is limited to 10 people maximum.

This program takes place over 2 Weekends. Some of the Practicum hours (homework, reading, assignments) may be completed outside of training times. Please see below for proposed dates and times:

5-6:15pm: Training Hours
6:15-7pm: Dinner Break
7-9pm: Training Hours

Saturday
8:30am-1pm: Training Hours
1-1:45pm: Lunch Break
1:45-6:30pm: Training Hours

Sunday
8:30am-1pm: Training Hours
1-1:45pm: Lunch Break
1:45-6:30pm: Training Hours

$250 non-refundable deposit is due at time of registration
Balance due on or before training start date

*Fees may be paid via Credit Card, Interac, cheque, e-transfer, or cash.
*Fees do not include the cost of reading materials (don't worry, they're not pricey!).
